Sus or\u00edgenes se remontan a los olmecas quienes fueron los primeros humanos en consumir el cacao en forma de bebida. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta civilizaci\u00f3n fue la primera en cultivar el cacao en nuestro pa\u00eds y con el paso del tiempo, esta semilla se extendi\u00f3 a la civilizaci\u00f3n maya y a la azteca. Su significado era la de <a href=\"https:\/\/infomercado.net\/mexico\/historia-jorge-vergara\/\">abundancia <\/a>y se usaba en rituales dedicados a Quetzalc\u00f3atl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando llegaron los conquistadores comenzaron a mezclar la pasta del cacao con az\u00facar para fabricar dulces y bebidas calientes. Su valor fue decayendo como moneda de cambio hasta solo convertirse en un instrumento para hacer postres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfCu\u00e1nto chocolate se consume en M\u00e9xico?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Se estima que solo en la temporada cercana al D\u00eda de Reyes se consumen m\u00e1s de 800 mil litros de chocolate en todo nuestro pa\u00eds. Este puede ser en una bebida caliente para las zonas fr\u00edas o su versi\u00f3n helada para la costa y sur de M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adicionalmente se ha popularizado su uso para relleno de las <a href=\"https:\/\/infomercado.net\/mexico\/cuantas-roscas-de-reyes-se-venden-en-mexico\/\">roscas de reyes<\/a>, que han dejado de lado el ate y los frutos secos para ser coronados con trozos de chocolate.
